Well about me..... I've been off-roading since I was in diapers, I grew up in the Imperial Valley were my back yard was superstition Mt, Glamis sand dunes, Gordon's well, Ocotillo wells etc....I grew up riding 3 wheelers and quads. Jeeps were always part of my family growing up(I think my uncle has 7 now). After my Military service I got back into quads and sandrails (I built my own long travel V8)and then eventually got back into Jeeps. I'm on my 3rd Jeep since I got back into it. I have had 1993 YJ, 1999 TJ and my current 2011 JKUR. All of them have been modified in some way or another(nothing of mine stays stock). Jeeping has given me the opportunity to make great friends and become closer with my family. Keep on Jeepin and see you on the trail.

I just finished the Rubicon trail last week. I have been wheeling with the SDJC for about a year. I have a Copperhead Rubicon Unlimited. It is set up pretty well with 3 inch Terraflex lift with Fox shocks all around. LOD front bumper and rockrails. Smittybuilt rear bumper. 22" light bar on the bumper with a smittybuilt 10,000 lbs. winch. My family and I have had a great time wheeling with the group and look forward to many more runs.

I'm new to this. My names Gene and I moved back to San Diego a little over a year ago and had a Chevy truck that got terrible gas mileage. I sold it and bought something more economical. A 1995 Wrangler. My brother's been a Jeep guy for years and started talking about us going out. It's funny. I lived in Reno NV for 14 years and between my wife and kids they had 5 Cherokees and we never got into off roading. It's always been Harleys for me. Long story short, I had surgery, needed cash, sold the Harley and got a lift kit and bigger tires and love the desert and anywhere else my wife and I can go off roading.

Hey there! My name is Michael and I'm new to the club. Went on the topless run yesterday and had a great time!! I'm new to jeeping, just got my first one about 2 months ago, 1995 Wrangler Sahara. 4" skyjacker lift with 33" General grabbers. Just installed a sway bar disconnect kit and throttle body. I'm definitely interested in any runs that groups are running outside of the SDJC events, so if you don't mind inviting a newbie, I'd love to gain some experience for some future events thanks so much for having me and hope to be seeing you all out on the trails. Safe journeys! -Michael

Hey everyone! Sorry for the late post, it's been kind of crazy the past few weeks. I've been pretty tied up with family and work the past few months for those of you that I haven't met. I'm a proud owner of an '01 TJ. I previously had a '95 XJ with almost 200,000 miles when I had to let it go. "Little Red" currently has a 2.5 RC lift with 32" Falken Rocky Mountain ATS tires. I added the crown automotive HD steering drag link which made a huge difference in on road handling. It also has G2 chromoly axle shafts and an Aussie locker in the rear. This little monster has seen the likes of Gold Mountain in Big Bear and Voodoo in Superstition. Looking forward to maybe making it a little taller in the fall when I get back from deployment. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I have owned 4.0L Jeeps for the past 11 years and have done a ton of normal repairs as well as those that are not so typical.

Mike and I went on our first Event with you Saturday at the Go Topless. Wish it had been warmer to actually have gone topless. We had a great time. We own a 2006 Wrangler TJ. We bought it in February and have gone on a trail almost every weekend. LOVE IT. Mike is an experienced off-roader...I am very new to it. We live in the Escondido area and are excited to experience more events with the SD Jeep Club.

My Jeep:: 2006 Wrangler TJ
|
Post by riverrock1 on May 18, 2015 11:43:57 GMT -8
Hello to all SDJC members and Jeep lovers! I am Mike (aka River Rock on FB), the lucky guy that Janis, who posted above, shares life and adventures with. This girl is all in for everything but skydiving. And, she's beautiful, too!
My first off road experiences were back in the early 70s. I have the same ford Model A coupe that I loved to drive everywhere, even in the dirt. My first 4 X 4 experience was with a 1989 Suzuki Sidekick that almost went everywhere Jeeps couldn't. But, we all know the truth about that! Janis's and my 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ is all stock, but, also all heart. It simply goes! Up, down, and sideways, she's a point and go kinda wonder. Except when we are high centered, of course.
Yesterday was our first excursion with SDJC. We've been up Bee Canyon in dry weather. Personally, I prefer the weather we had yesterday. Less dust to eat and mud goes down better!
Let's roll!

Happy to meet everyone! I am currently Jeepless But recently rebuilt three different salvage JKs in trail rigs and sold them. I have been rebuilding Jeeps and designing other cars(mostly EVs) for the last 20 years and can hopefully help other San Diego Jeep lovers with their random Jeep issues

My Jeep:: 2013 AEV Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited
|
Post by Man Solo on May 19, 2015 17:35:48 GMT -8
Hi Everyone, my name is John and I have been wheeling since 1984. My first experience off road was here locally. My buddy Jo-Jo took me to his fathers place in Plaster City, from there we rode quads over to Superstition Mountain at night under a full moon. I was hooked! Shortly afterwards my Navy ship set sail for Hawaii, once there I was introduced to wheeling by a family member stationed at Pearl Harbor. Together, we took on many of the backroads and trails of Oahu. We took his Ford Bronco II all around the island and I’ll never forget it. Those two events happened inside of a month of each other and I knew then, I was all in for a lifetime of fun and adventure. Now many years later, I am on my umpteenth Jeep and still going strong. I love what this sport has brought to me. I’ll be Jeeping Until I Die

Hello, everyone. My name is Marco and I just registered to be able to check in with the club and see all the happenings. I've been working with John for a while now and I'm very pleased to be able to offer the support of 4 Wheel Parts to the club. If anyone ever needs help with anything please don't hesitate to reach out to me. My back ground/forte is really in the "Go Fast" Baja/Pre-runner genre. I've built 2 really nice pre-runners (both 4wd) and have spent many hours in the deserts of Baja both as a chase/pit crew and just a spectator. But with 19 years of experience with 4WP, I'm no Jeep slouch by any means. I'm currently building a 2005 LJ Rubicon for a friend of mine. We're doing a Tera LCG Pro kit with coil-over conversion and a bunch of other goodies. I can't wait to finish this build so we can get out and play with it!
Thank you to all who are already customers of 4 Wheel Parts, and I look forward to meeting any of you who choose to visit my store. My contact info is below.
