My 1947 Willy's CJ2A (which I have owned since 1955) is not tough enough to hang with your crowd, even though it has just been completely restored. I am not sure I can ask for recommendation, but does anyone know of an "antique" jeep club here in SD where I could get some advice? Specifically, ideas to make it less likely to be stolen, and a person who shop who could perform the inevitable repairs. Thank you.

Born and raised is NY. Didn't even know what off roading was! Then late in my High School years, I moved to Colorado and thats when dabbled in some trails and off roading with some of my friends. I joined the Navy from there and now 13 years later I'm in San Diego and can start playing around. I have a 2016 JKU Sport. I'm kinda piecing it all together slow and steady as every time I save up enough for a new part, a water pipe bursts or we discover termites.....SMH...... anyway, I love the rig, my daughter loves riding in it, and (most important) my wife loves it! I've added a budget lift a few years back and now I realized what I did. I need to finish it up and install control arms. I did the lift myself and it took me a long time to feel comfortable about it. I'm looking to do the control arms next to recenter the axels and adjust the terrible pinion and castor angles. Anyway, we are looking forward to meeting you and all and having some fun out on the trails!

Hello everyone. I'm Pedro. I'm from Venezuela (SD about 2 years). Recently i bought a JK (my dream car hehe). His name is Simon and he is JK 2drs Sahara 2007. 2 months ago he got a 3.5" lift kit from rough country and tires 35 ironman all country MT and some other toys like a huracan rooftop tent (Venezuelan made) and etc. I used to do a lot of off-road in my country, i had a cj5, then a cj7 and then a xj 2001. but since I've been here i haven't had the time that I wish. I hope to meet some of you and assist to any event or trail. I'm not sure what I need to visit some trails or off road parks (I read somewhere that I need to pay an adventure permit or something like that but i have not clue). Last year I took a summer vacation roadtrip in my former suv (nissan xterra) to sequoya national park and lake Tahoe and it was awesome. Regards. Pedro

Hello, new friends! I've been a Jeep Owner for about a decade. Bought a 2004 TJ back in 2007. I mostly bought it so I could find geocaches that were previously inaccessible to me. Didn't do much in the way of mods. No armor, no lifts. Just ran trails in the desert (Borrego, Ocotillo). Drove over a couple of dunes in Glamis and almost got stuck in a mud bog once (successfully backed out). That's about as extreme as I wanted to get. The TJ started having some troubles last December, so I bought a 2015 JK. I love it as much as I loved the TJ, but I may be asking a little more out of it, so I added rock sliders, bumpers, and a winch. I'm still not looking to do anything crazy, but I want to be prepared. I've been married to the same woman for 36 years, and we have 2 adult children. I'm a geocacher, as stated, a forensic scientist, and a beekeeper. I guess that's about it. Hopefully, I'll meet some of you on the trail. Randy

Aloha My name is Kelii Au Hoon new to forum and SDJC. My dad passed away little over a year ago and couldn’t take his 2011 Jku with him and my step mom graciously decided to pass it down to me. This is my first Jeep but not the last. I now have a passion/obsession in life and am proud to carry on my fathers legacy. Rig is pretty much stock but the build list is never ending. I’m just here to make some friends learn somethings and enjoy this life that I was given. Thank you SDJC for being so open, and accepting I look forward to many runs and events over the years.

Hey all. Name is John and I am have owned a Jeep for just over 4 years now. Never been in a Jeep club or done any organized rides. I recently sold my 98 TJ and went all in on a 2018 JL Unlimited Rubicon. The wife and I live in Mira Mesa and are somewhat casual off roaders. Been to Ocatillo Wells and Borrego a lot and hit the Tierra Del Sol event for the last three years. I have watched a lot of videos from Trail Recon and I am hoping to occasionally hook up with a day trip Jeep adventure. Still learning the new ride as it has a lot more than my old 2 door TJ, but I am looking forward to putting it to the test Hope to see some of you on the trail.

Hey all, I'm John. I'm a long-time SD transplant, originally from Scotland. I've been a Jeepist for nearly 20 years, predominantly in Borrego/Truckhaven and Lake Morena/Corral Canyon areas. Looking for some other areas to explore, I happened upon SDJC, so I'm looking into what it takes to join in.
I started out with a nicely-built '82 CJ5, but that had to go some years ago (long, unhappy story). A couple of years ago I had a relapse, and got back into Jeeping. I now have a '95 YJ that I've built up to the same/better spec as my old CJ (2.5L I4, 4.56 gears, e-lockers and much more), recent new paint, a LOT of time/effort/money have gone into this puppy.
I'm still bolting parts back on after the recent paint-job, but I'm almost ready to get back out on the trail.
