I'll be upgrading the axles on the Jeep to 60/60, this also includes upgrading the brakes on the stock JK from single piston to dual piston at each wheel. We were discussing this yesterday and the thought was that I would also need to upgrade the Master Cylinder to compensate for the increased amount of fluid to push for the dual pistons. In reading into the upgrade a bit more, it appears that were was a change in the Master Cylinder on the JK models between 07-11 and 12 and later Teraflex Master Cylinder Kit reads: teraflex.com/shop_items/528ffa7fead962f416e72f41 specifically noting "2012+ JKs do not need this kit". I tried to dig more into this difference on the Master Cylinder however could not find any specific details. Anyone have some background information? It seems I could continue to use the OEM Master Cylinder for now and if the brakes are not performing as they should, can look for what other upgrades may be available.
